Anybody read any good books about female empowerment/finding oneself?
C took over my running endeavor since my ankle injury and now I feel like I need to find a 'thing'. Right now my list consists of swimming and gardening. Ultimately I think it's probably that I'd just like to belong to a group outside of anything I do with my husband. Guess I'll need to do some networking.
Have you tried meetup.com yet? They have just about anything you can think of so it's a good way to meet people. I've only gone to a few dog hikes when Harvey was a puppy and I was trying to socialize him but it was fun.
ReplyDeleteOh and it's not exactly all about female empowerment/finding oneself but I really liked Bossypants (Tina Fey's book).
ReplyDeleteI quoted part of it on the notes page of my facebook.
On Mystic Lake was a great book. Empowering I thought. It's an easy read if you're interested. Basically this lady has been the good wife for so long doing everything for her husband only to find out 20 years after marriage that he has been cheating on her all along with different women and now wants a divorce. She has to pick herself back up and realize she had the strength all along. She starts to make something of her dreams she had prior to being married. Don't know if you're into that kind of empowerment.
