Day 1 Complete

I am going to run a 5k.  Always wanted to, never have.  My wonderful brother created a training plan for me.  I started this plan today.  Run 1 mile.

I am not a runner.  I have not run since...since...more than a year ago.

I "ran" a mile today.  I don't know what my pace was, but I did it.  I almost passed out after I finished my final lap, but I did it.

I am proud.

I shall run 1 mile again on Wednesday.

  1. That's awesome. Do you have any specific 5k in mind? I promised myself that I'm going to do the Bolder Boulder this year. It looks like a lot of fun, Dr.Oz is there and it's kind of a Boulder thing so I've always wanted to try it. It should be easy because you can walk it too and I could do that now but I'm going to try to run most of it.

I haven't really started all the way yet aside for some slight jogging with the dog but I know a few people that did the Couch Potato to 5k program and loved it so I'm going to do that. It'd be nice to start jogging with Harvey for exercise too now that he's old enough (almost 2)-- that way I don't have to walk him and then go workout (which I never seem to do). Plus he always looks cheated when he sees people running by us with their dogs, heh.

Anyway, that's cool that we're doing it at the same time! If you feel like a vacation, you (and Chris too) are welcome to come out and run the Bolder Boulder with me on May 30th :) If my sister's not here, you can have the guest room too. Something to think about :)

  2. I know I've told you this at home, but I'm proud of you, too. Speed isn't the goal here, either! Keep workin' at it!

  3. Great! That's how it works, one day at a time! We did a lot of running in fitness boot camp yesterday. I was so mad b/c I'm so slow, and of course I was last, but I did it!
