After she left we went to Waynesville to try out the disc golf course there. It's pretty nice...I enjoyed the first 9 holes better than the 2nd 9. The 2nd 9 holes were less shady so I became hot and uncomfortable...not to mention I was wearing my Chacos which aren't the most comfortable footwear for disc golf. I wore a tank top without sunscreen (silly me!) to try and even out my tan lines in time for my cousin's wedding, but I think I did more harm than good. :oP!
We stopped at Fuddrucker's in Asheville for lunch. Not the healthiest when one's trying to lose weight, but we have to stop at our favorites when we get the chance...Sylva doesn't have the largest array of restaurants. I know, lame excuse. :o)
And then...drum roll please...I bought a bike! It's a Trek WSD 1.2 T. My bf bought the men's version. We took them for a little spin when we got home and it will definitely take some getting used to (and getting into shape! for me, at least). Some issues:
--I live in the mts of western NC
--my driveway is STEEP
--the drive to get to the main road is STEEP
--the roads have no shoulders and are curvy making it difficult for cars to pass
Basically, if you're in a blind curve they have to slow down and follow behind you until they can see if there are any cars coming in the opposite direction--sometimes they even go if they can see or not. At this point, I don't mind these things...if I get hit, then I'll mind.

My day is winding down with the bf preoccupied with WoW, my blog post coming to an end, and now I shall go work on re-editting my report for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission.
Well that sounds exciting! I moved to a house which is twice as far from school as I was last semester, so I am converting my mountain bike to a road bike. Also, getting a big basket for the back to carry books/groceries and cages for my feet to work all my leg muscles! Riding is so much better than driving! Great start to the day! My friend made these really cool shirts that say, "Burn fat, not oil!" It's really cute!

Oooh, I like the bike. You'll have to tell me how you like it after you use it more. I don't like biking b/c it hurts my butt. lol- but I need to exercise and everyone tells me to just get a better seat/cushion and really just a new bike b/c mine is from 6th grade.
ReplyDeleteI think maybe I'll rent one before buying anything fancy and see how I like it. But definitely let me know how you like yours.
