...or just excited to go shopping? On Saturday I found two dresses for $30 each...one was originally $70, the other $60. Yesterday we went into town to find me some shoes for my cousin's wedding and ended up doing more than originally anticipated. First, I didn't realize the mall doesn't open on Sunday until 12, so we ate lunch at Chili's to waste some time--it's one of my favorites and I hadn't been there in forever! (I recommend the warm cinnamon roll desert shot.) The shoes I found yesterday were originally $90 and I got them for $40! I got polyester batting to stuff the dog beds I plan to make sometime soon, as well as 12 oz. cotton yarn on sale for $5 each. I also got a workout shirt and workout shorts...both of which I desperately needed. We then stopped by a bike shop (we're toying with the idea of biking to campus instead of driving) and found that the cheapest road bike I could get is $770. Since I'm not yet prepared to spend that kind of money, I called up a friend and he agreed we could try out his bike he's trying to sell. So we loaded up the bike and then went to see The Darkknight. Pretty good movie I must say. I'm going out in the field today, so the bike will have to wait until tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. ;o) I wanted to look for an elliptical trainer too, but when Chris made the point that I won't need one if I buy a road bike, I abandoned that quest. He probably was just tired of shopping. :o)
So that was my day in Asheville...a grand day out for girl who lives in the country!
Ahhh, I love shopping days!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Have I told you I'm so happy you have a blog now?
I would love to bike ride instead of elliptical! (Is "elliptical" a verb?) Good luck with the bike situation! I think biking to campus would be an excellent start to your day. How far would that be?
ReplyDeleteI just have to play devil's advocate, though: What are you going to do in bad weather, huh? An elliptical would come in pretty handy then...hehe.
Craigslist, dude. No way you should pay $770 for a bike unless you're going to put major miles on it or start racing. Then you need to pay $2,700.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy I have a blog now too! It's fun, but it might be a challenge to think of stimulating topics to write about. Then again...perhaps not. :o)
ReplyDeleteThe ride would be a little over 6.5 miles one way. I had briefly thought about my plan of action should inclement weather arise. I'm pretty sure that short of hail, ice, and snow, I'll still ride--I'm pretty tough. :o) Only time will tell though. Watch me run away screaming and crying like a little girl. HA!
As for Craigslist, we have to use Asheville and since Asheville isn't that big, there's not many listings. I'll definitely keep looking though!
