I would love love love to get a handle on our money, but C throws all his receipts away & I just toss mine in a pile in the office where they're swiftly lost.
I'm thinking it's probably just like home organization...it takes a little bit every day to keep it up. I'm so not an every day person. I'm a, "Wow! This house is a mess! Let's spend every waking moment cleaning for the next 3 days just to repeat the cycle again in a month!" person.
I just discovered some budget templates on Office Online, so I'm hoping one of these will help.
I'm also hoping my increasing experience with the budgets at work will help me out.
Oh honey, don't get me started. Aaron Webb and I are like, the marriage-budget planning geeks of the world!

And yes, we follow his steps to a tee and can I say we have NO DEBT other than our mortgage? I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.
Oh, and we use Quicken to keep track of our money :)
I had a boss that took out $200 in cash per paycheck. He didn't write checks or use credit/debit cards. When the $200 was used up, he stopped spending money. Period. Simple, but effective.
